You might think the hardest part of executing our first-ever photo contest was figuring out how to collect submissions, keeping them organized, or finding a way to allow people to vote. Each of those things was definitely challenging, but not even close to as challenging as choosing just twelve winners from the impressive collection of more than 250 photo submissions from on and around Lake Hopatcong that we received.
Though we could have filled several calendars with the stunning images submitted (and we just might!), below are the winners of our 2021 "Lake Your Best Shot!" photo contest. The winning submissions were selected by a committee of judges based on such criteria as originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit, and subject matter relevance, as well as by public voting. The selected images will be featured on a special Lake Hopatcong Foundation 10th-anniversary calendar (2022) and winning photographers will be invited on an exclusive photography cruise aboard the LHF Floating Classroom.
We hope you enjoy this visual celebration of Lake Hopatcong as a natural, recreational, and community resource. Stay tuned for the chance to purchase our 10th-anniversary calendar this fall featuring the winning photographs. And thank you to all who shared your impressive Lake Hopatcong photos with us!
