We at the Lake Hopatcong Foundation know that so much of what we do simply wouldn’t be possible without our amazing volunteers. From seeking out invasive species to helping educate local students to directing event traffic to stuffing envelopes, our volunteers step up when we need them to, and for that we are SO grateful!
We had hoped to properly honor our volunteers with a celebration during National Volunteer Week back in April. In light of the circumstances at the time, we decided to postpone our activities and hoped that we would be able to show our appreciation with in-person events this summer. Unfortunately, although things have improved in New Jersey, we still won’t be able to bring everyone together in a safe way. So instead, we are celebrating LHF Volunteer Appreciation Week next week (August 17-21) with virtual recognition for the amazing ways our volunteers help us carry out our mission. Please check out our Facebook page to see some special shout-outs during the week, and we encourage you to tell your story about how volunteering has changed your life for the better, too!
Thank you, volunteers, and we cannot WAIT to be able to celebrate you in person in 2021 (fingers crossed!). For now, we hope our demonstrations of gratitude next week will help you know how much we truly love and value you all.
