We are continually humbled by the remarkable commitment of Lake Hopatcong Foundation volunteers. In 2023 alone, volunteers have clocked an astonishing 5,389 hours of service. Their efforts remain integral to fostering a vibrant and healthy lake and community, and our accomplishments stand as a testament to their invaluable support.
Last week, three exceptional LHF volunteers were recognized for their contributions to the community, and we are pleased to share their acknowledgments.
Bravo to our board chair, Marty Kane, who was honored with a Distinguished Leadership Award from the Morris County Sheriff and police chiefs from Hopatcong, Jefferson, Mt. Arlington, and Roxbury. This accolade lauds Marty's “exceptional leadership, inspiring vision, countless hours of selfless service, and unwavering commitment to Lake Hopatcong and our communities.” He was also presented with a letter of appreciation from the New Jersey State Police, Marine Service Bureau extolling his "commitment to a safer, more harmonious environment" on the lake.
Additionally, we extend heartfelt congratulations to Lee Moreau and Larry Orlans, recognized as Seniors of Distinction by Representative Tom Kean, Jr. These awards celebrate their dedication in serving and uplifting our community. Lee and Larry have been instrumental in supporting various Foundation programs, including our environmental field trips, educational cruises, and community events like the Lake Hopatcong Block Party (just to name a few!). We are immensely fortunate to have such passionate and dedicated individuals among our volunteers. So, here’s to Marty, Lee, Larry, and all who give their time and talents in so many ways. Cheers and thank you!
