Princeton Hydro has released the 2023 Lake Hopatcong Water Quality Report, which was funded by the Lake Hopatcong Commission. Regular water quality monitoring has been conducted on Lake Hopatcong since the 1980s and is a valuable tool for assessing the overall “health” of the lake on an annual basis, identifying long-term trends or changes in water quality, and quantifying and objectively assessing the success and potential impacts of restoration efforts.
Princeton Hydro's Senior Technical Director of Ecological Services, Dr. Fred Lubnow, recently delivered a comprehensive overview of the 2023 Water Quality Report via Zoom. In this informative presentation (video provided below), Dr. Lubnow offers valuable insights into the Lake Hopatcong water quality initiatives undertaken in 2023, presents a thorough analysis of the report's data, and answers questions from the public.
Princeton Hydro provides environmental and engineering consulting services for water quality monitoring, HAB mitigation, and stormwater management projects at Lake Hopatcong. Dr. Lubnow’s areas of expertise include aquatic and watershed management, restoration ecology, community and ecosystem ecology, and the prevention, identification, and management of Harmful Algal Blooms. As Senior Technical Director of Ecological Services at Princeton Hydro, he manages a variety of lake and watershed restoration projects.
