The Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour is a collection of films from the annual festival held the third week of January in Nevada City, CA which is now in its 17th year. Wild & Scenic focuses on films which speak to the environmental concerns and celebrations of our planet.  The festival is a natural extension of our work to inspire people to act on behalf of our environment.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is being presented in conjunction with the Smithsonian Water/Ways exhibit showing from July 1 – August 10 at the Lake Hopatcong Foundation Environmental and Cultural Center, 125 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.

Eleven films will be featured at the tour event in Netcong, including “Aiden’s Butterfly” (2018), a heartwarming 14-minute film featuring 11-year-old Aiden Wang, who has been growing milkweed to preserve endangered monarch butterflies since he was 6.

“River Connections” (2017) is a 16-minute film focusing on the many ways water enhances our well-being. It highlights three rivers, including the Musconetcong, noting the inspired efforts of communities that come together to protect them.

This program was made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
