Wild & Scenic Film Festival

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour will be held on July 13 at the Palace Theatre in Netcong.   The Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour is a collection of films from the annual festival held in Nevada City, CA which is now in its 17th year. Wild & Scenic focuses on films which speak to the environmental concerns and celebrations of our planet. Volunteers are needed to assist with such tasks as selling raffle tickets and registration.

Water/Ways exhibit

The Smithsonian Water/Ways exhibit will run from July 1 through August 10 at the Lake Hopatcong Foundation Environmental and Cultural Center, Landing.  Water/Ways explores the endless motion of the water cycle, water’s effect on landscape, settlement and migration, and its impact on culture and spirituality. It looks at how political and economic planning have long been affected by access to water and control of water resources. Human creativity and resourcefulness provide new ways of protecting water resources and renewing respect for the natural environment. Volunteers are needed to greet and guide visitors.  There will be training provided for volunteers prior to the start of the exhibit. Volunteer slots will be evening hours on Thursdays and Fridays, 4pm-6pm and 6pm-8pm, and Saturdays 11am-1pm and 1pm-3pm.
