Up to 2,000 free tree seedlings will be available at each of 11 Morris County towns from April 22nd through May 5th as part of the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign. A partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation and the New Jersey of State Forestry Service, the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign provides trees to communities who lost their urban canopy in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
Local distribution times/locations include:
- Roxbury: May 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Roxbury Recreation, 72 Eyland Avenue
- Hopatcong: May 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Municipal Building, Parking Lot
Residents are eligible to receive up to five free seedlings at any distribution site. Proof of residency in the community where seedlings are distributed is not required. You can find more locations where you can pick up free trees HERE.
