When your big 10th anniversary gala is not only a great time but a runaway success, the question becomes…how can we do that all over again? That was the question on the committee’s mind when we first sat down in February, to talk about what our 2023 gala might look like.
There was so much to love about our first-ever Stone Water gala the summer before, like their fabulous food, which was served up at food stations dotted around the restaurant and on endless passed plates. Then there were the delicious drinks, mixed up by some seriously talented folks behind the bar, the centerpiece of the restaurant. And the deck was the place to be for beautiful views of the Woodport section of the lake, especially as the sun was setting.
Those elements, combined with an amazing auction and a moment to honor our extraordinary founding Board of Trustees, made for one magical evening. So, we’ve bottled that magic and we’re bringing it back on Thursday, July 20 for everyone to enjoy. Expect the same great extended cocktail hour-style event, designed for maximum mixing and mingling (this year, we’ll have more indoor seating to match the seating on the deck). We’re also going to take a moment to recognize three very special people: Senator Steven Oroho and volunteers Larry Orlans and Gay Bucci, who have all contributed so much to our lake community. And our auction returns with fan favorites, like Commodore Mike’s Yacht Sauce, Scott Pollio’s gigantic Adirondack chair, and a hand-painted rain barrel. There will also be new items and experiences, like a rustic bread-making class, a glass-blowing class, and a boat ride aboard a stylish, completely electric boat – just to name a few! If you can’t join us on the evening of July 20, due to its popularity, the auction will once again be totally virtual, and those who cannot attend the event can still bid from anywhere!
At the end of the evening, we’ll announce the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of our Split-the-Pot raffle. The committee and Foundation are working hard to sell out all 300 tickets, giving you great odds of winning up to $7,500!
So, get your tickets for our July 20 gala now and register for another wonderful auction that will be open for preview on July 14 (consider putting a credit card on file so you can start bidding immediately when the auction opens on July 17)! We can’t thank you enough for helping us continue the magic of 2022, as we raise funds to support a vibrant and healthy lake and community!
