Seeking Unique Block Party Demonstrations and Performances!

The Lake Hopatcong Block Party makes its much-anticipated return on Saturday, May 17. This year, we’re bringing even more energy, excitement, and opportunities for the community to come together in celebration of everything that makes Lake Hopatcong so special. We’re seeking those with special talents to help us entertain the masses and showcase the musical and artistic abilities of our community! Read on to learn about the types of demonstrations and performances that have worked well in the past, and what we’re looking for this year.

Demonstrations

We have several demonstrations on the docket, like the ever-popular Eyes of the Wild animal ambassadors, Roxbury High School Roxbotix, the Puppy Wuppy Drill Team, and casting demos with the Knee Deep Club, just to name a few. If you or your club has a special skill you would like to showcase, we’d like to hear from you.

Artistic Performances & Walkabout Entertainment

While the Block Party is not a music festival with a lineup of bands, we have time in our schedule for a few live performances in our pavilion area! A favorite, every year, is the An Clar School of Irish Dance. We have even more opportunities when it comes to “walkabout entertainment” or performances that happen “on the go” around the event. We’re looking for traveling troubadours and merry minstrels, or clubs and choruses that play or sing. For our visual artist friends, we’ve also had artists perform live paintings at the Block Party. Or, maybe you’re a juggler, or part of a Barber Shop Quartet! If you or your group paint, sing, play, dance, etc., please reach out!

Mascots 

Mascots and ambassadors, such as Smokey Bear, the Roxbury High School Gael, the Centenary University Cyclone, Bubbles the Elephant from The Learning Experience, and more have delighted guests, while roaming around the event and taking photos with families. If you have a mascot that could elevate the Block Party guest experience, send an email.

Plus, you’ll be a part of an exciting event that continues to grow and attract attention from people across the region.
