We hope everyone had a great Halloween! With all those sweet treats unwrapped, you might be left with a sour aftertaste from the pile of plastic wrappers. Most of these thin, flexible plastics can’t be recycled through regular programs, but this year, we’re offering an easy way to keep them out of the landfill.
Throughout November, drop off your clean candy or snack wrappers at our collection box, located by our office door on the left side of Lake Hopatcong Station at 125 Landing Road in Landing, NJ. We’ve purchased a box from Terracycle to collect these wrappers, and once it’s full, we’ll send them off for recycling.
If you’re interested in starting a collection of your own, you can order a box or an envelope through Terracycle to fit your recycling needs.
Together, let’s reduce Halloween waste—one wrapper at a time!
