Each spring, the Musconetcong Watershed Association (MWA) organizes a river cleanup that draws hundreds of volunteers to remove trash at various locations along the Musconetcong River, from Lake Hopatcong to the Delaware River confluence. This year's cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2022, beginning at 9:00 am.
The Lake Hopatcong Foundation is pleased to assist the MWA in this effort each year by coordinating the Hopatcong State Park portion (location #1 on the map) of the cleanup. If you would like to view a map of cleanup locations, find out more, or register, CLICK HERE.
After the cleanup, the MWA invites all participants to join them for a BBQ cookout at their River Resource Center headquarters, located at 10 Maple Avenue, Asbury, NJ. The BBQ is free for all volunteers as a thank-you for your dedication in helping to keep the Musconetcong River clean and healthy!
Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Volunteers are asked to wear masks when in groups, such as when getting supplies at the beginning of the event.
For questions or to register a group of 10 or more, please contact Denise Manole at cleanup@musconetcong.org.
We hope you can join us at the headwaters of the Musky for this river cleanup day!
