We were very saddened this week by the death of Roxbury Councilman Richard Zoschak. In addition to representing Roxbury for almost 20 years, Rich was also a founding member of the Lake Hopatcong Commission.
While he carried oxygen because of reduced lung capacity caused by a childhood bout with polio, he was always hands-on, ready to go on site visits and participate in community events. I remember him joining a group walking the proposed Morris Canal Greenway through Landing to ensure it was being properly planned and executed through Roxbury's Ward 1, which he represented. We could always count on him to stop by Foundation events and activities occurring at our offices in Landing, whether it was our annual native plant sale or a lake safety talk. He always brightened up our office when he visited.
We will miss him both personally and professionally. Our condolences go to his wife, Diana, and his family.
