As we enter the season of giving and gratitude, we find ourselves reflecting on our 10th anniversary year and all we were able to accomplish protecting and improving our lake, together. From educating 1,800 people aboard our Floating Classroom, to hosting 4,000 people at our events and programs, to helping install floating wetland islands, we thank you for supporting our efforts.
Clean water was the theme of our 10-year celebration, and appropriately, we share this milestone with the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act – the principal law governing pollution control and water quality of our nation's waterways. Like the goals of the Clean Water Act, much has been accomplished on our lake, but there is still much, much more that needs to be done!
That’s why, on Giving Tuesday and through the end of the year, we’ll be raising funds to help continue our efforts to improve water quality on Lake Hopatcong – through our advocacy, education, recreation, and community initiatives. We’re calling this campaign “Every Drop Counts”, and every time someone gives a gift in support of our efforts, we’ll be adding a drop to the map. We hope to “fill our lake” by December 31 and show how every small act makes a big difference here at Lake Hopatcong.
Every student we educate, every water quality improvement project we help implement, every elected official with whom we meet, and every person we introduce to the beauty and importance of our lake makes a difference. And so do you, with every dollar you generously donate in support of these efforts.
The best part? You don’t need to wait until Giving Tuesday to support us! Give a gift today and put your drop on the map. As we move towards the end of the year, we’ll update you on our progress, as well as all we accomplished together this year and hope to accomplish in the decade to come.
You are our steadfast donors and volunteers, and we are grateful for every dollar and minute of your help. It all counts.
Thank you and cheers to clean water!
