We will be hosting our annual National Trails Day group hike on Sunday, June 5, from noon to 2 pm. This two-hour trek will take hikers along the Lake Hopatcong Trail, the James Leach Boardwalk Trail, and some newly blazed trails in the Prospect Point Preserve. If time permits, we will also hike to Liffy Island. The hike will be led by experienced hiker and Jefferson Township trail maintenance volunteer Ed Young. Ed has been leading hikes for many years since his retirement in 2000 from the Army. Parking is limited and carpooling is highly recommended. Registration is required.
Moderate difficulty
All ages, maximum 25 hikers
This hike is full and registration is now closed. if you would like to be added to a waitlist please email info@lakehopatcongfoundation.org.
To celebrate the Lake Hopatcong Foundation's 10th and the 30th annual #NationalTrails Day, why not make our local trails better? You can leave a trail better than you found it by bringing a bag to collect trash whenever you hike a trail, walk in your neighborhood, or visit preserved spaces or parks. You can also sign up as a volunteer trail maintainer for the Lake Hopatcong Trail! Happy hiking.
