LHF Receives Daily Record Grassroots Award for the Floating Wetland Islands Project!

Grassroots Award LHFIt’s another exciting day for the Lake Hopatcong Foundation as we are thrilled to have been awarded a Grassroots Award from the Daily Record for the Floating Wetland Islands Project in Ashley Cove!! The islands, which help remove nutrients from the lake and improve overall water quality, were installed through a NJDEP 319(h) grant that was awarded to the Lake Hopatcong Commission and has been administered by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation.

Many thanks to the Daily Record for the award, to our grants and project coordinator Donna Macalle-Holly for pulling together the logistics of the installation, to Princeton Hydro LLC, and to our board chairman, Marty Kane, for accepting the award at the Sunday Supper Series on Sunday, September 21.

For more information on the project, check out the Lake Hopatcong News coverage here.
