After you’ve completed the registration process, a fundraising page will automatically be created for you.  Post your fundraising page on social media and send it to friends, family and colleagues to encourage them to help you reach your goal.  Earn incentives for reaching fundraising goals starting at $100. Become a Lake Loop VIP when you raise $500 or more!  If you have chosen the ‘Bike, Run, Paddle for the Cause’ zero registration fee option, you will have a $50 fundraising minimum that you will need to meet prior to the event.  All other registration types do NOT have fundraising minimum requirements.

In addition to the challenges participants face on October 7, Live the Lake NJ, our event sponsor, has also challenged participants to kick their fundraising into gear before the summer comes to an end, with a $5,000 matching donation for money raised before September 22. So for the next couple of weeks—or until we hit our $5,000 target—every dollar you raise for the Lake Hopatcong Foundation will double.

Bonus: It also means you can get to the $500 VIP incentive level in half the time if you can raise $250 before Sept. 22! What do our fundraising VIPs receive? In addition to the Lake Loop T-shirt, they get a cooling sports towel and goodie bag, a pre-ride bike check from a local mechanic, a VIP concierge with perks such as baked treats, fruits, and drinks, and the ability to jump the line for a massage from our on-site masseuse. Those who raise $1,000 or more receive a Lake Loop cooler, too!

Bike Ride

The bike course will go clockwise around the lake and consist of approximately 20 miles of rolling terrain. This is a great course for experienced cyclists, weekend warriors or riders who want to stretch their legs and enjoy the ride. As the name suggests, this route loops the lake and offers many lake views that you can truly appreciate from a bike. Along the way you can also appreciate some of the amazing homes and historic sites as you ride. This course is not flat but, there are no significant hills that might deter those looking for an enjoyable ride.

While Lake Loop is a Ride, not a Race, the event offers some competitive challenges.  The timed climbs represent the most significant climbs on the routes. We will be using Strava to track top finishers of the hill climbs on the bike route.  If you would like to participate Download the Strava app on your phone and join the Lake Loop group on event day.  From the data collected in Strava we will award prizes to the top finishers.

If you are an experienced cyclist who is looking for more of a challenge, the 40- and 62-mile courses include a hilly extension added to the 20-mile course. You’ll enjoy the same amazing scenery while challenging yourself with the additional mileage as well as the more challenging terrain.

Maps, cue sheets, stocked rest stops, SAG support and fully marked routes provided. No trikes or training wheeled bicycles allowed. Helmets are required.

The varied terrain will be fun and interesting and will give you a new appreciation for Hopatcong State Park. Presented by members of Salt Shakers trail running club, this course promises to be one of the more unique run/walks you’ve participated in. The course is 1.5 miles long and those running the 5k will run/walk the course twice.  The 5k trail run is sanctioned by USATF and will be timed with awards presented at the end.
