Annual Group Trail Hike
In June of each year, in conjunction with National Trails Day, the Lake Hopatcong Foundation hosts a guided hike at a trail in the Lake Hopatcong area.
Through the years, hikes have been held on the Prospect Point Trail in Jefferson, Roland May Eves Sanctuary Trail in Hopatcong, the Ice Age Trail in Landing, and the Lake Hopatcong Trail in Hopatcong.
For 2019, our annual group hike is presented in conjunction with local Girl Scout Troop 96064. The Troop’s Bronze Award project centers around bringing awareness of the Lake Hopatcong Trail to the community. On June 1, starting at 2 pm, the girls will be celebrating National Trails Day with us by sharing information about trail history, hiking safety, and first aid (with assistance from the Hopatcong Ambulance Squad). They will also be providing snacks and painting rocks for Kindness for Christopher.
The day will begin at 2:00 pm at the Hopatcong Senior Center, with a guided hike, led by Cliff Lundin, starting at 2:30. The hike will be approximately 45 minutes and is moderate in difficulty.
