This past Tuesday, the second annual Pizza Wars Awards Ceremony was held at the LHF office in the Lake Hopatcong Train Station.
Rohan Shetty, Marketing Manager for Hopatcong Lake Regional News, presented Dave Cambiotti, owner of Cambiotti’s Tomato Pie Café, with a plaque to commemorate their win in the 2019 Pizza Wars. (See Pizza Wars 2019 – And the Winner is…)
Cambiotti stated, “It’s great to win the Pizza Wars for a second year in a row. It’s a great thing that everyone gets out and votes and uses social media to spread the word about everyone in the area, restaurants and pizzerias. Even though we won, everyone out there does a great job at what they do and it all raises money for the Lake Hopatcong Foundation which helps keep the lake happy, healthy and safe for everyone to use.”
Shetty then presented a $1,000 check to Jess Murphy, President of the Lake Hopatcong Foundation. The money was generated by the voters, with each vote equalling a $1 donation, which was supported by the 2019 Pizza Wars sponsors, Sabrettis’ Hot Dogs and Hopatcong Dental Associates.
“We’re very excited that this promotion really fits into our mission [which includes] bringing the communities together around the lake… We’re so appreciative of Hopatcong Lake Regional News, the sponsors who put the money behind those votes, and for every vote that was cast,” said Murphy.
