Help Restore the Lake Hopatcong Train Station Roof
One of the Lake Hopatcong Station’s most distinct features was its green Spanish tile roof. Although these roofs are designed to last 100 years, the original tiles were removed and replaced with shingles during the 1950s or ‘60s. As part of the restoration of the station, we plan to reinstall an authentic tile roof. Ludowici Brookville Green glazed tiles can still be ordered from the original manufacturer in New Lexington, Ohio.
For $25, you can sponsor a tile and help raise the roof! Everyone who donates to this campaign will have the opportunity to stop by the station and sign the back of a tile before the new roof is installed.
Please mail your donations to 37 Nolan’s Point Park Road, Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849 with “Train Station Roof Tile” in the memo of the check. Or click here to donate using a credit card online.
