The Lake Hopatcong Foundation dedicates itself to protecting the lake environment and enhancing the lake experience, bringing together public and private resources to encourage a culture of sustainability and stewardship on and around New Jersey’s largest lake, for this and future generations.
The Lake Hopatcong Foundation aims to improve and enhance the lake experience and environment. We are working in several areas to accomplish initiatives on behalf of the lake community and environment.
The Lake Hopatcong Foundation aims to bring lake education (environment, history, and safety) into local schools.
We have a strong focus on maintaining and improving the lake environment so the health of the lake doesn’t deteriorate.
One of the goals of LHF is to build the sense of lake community within the four towns that surround the lake. We are historical preserving and renovating the Lake Hopatcong Train Station to be our new home.
LHF has developed a multi-faceted approach to improving safety and protection on Lake Hopatcong including increased police patrols & the dock numbering program.
The Foundation is looking to improve and enhance recreational opportunities, specifically with regard to hiking, kayaking, swimming, and biking on and around Lake Hopatcong.
As a new part of our mission, we are looking forward to bringing arts & cultural events to the historically renovated new home of the LHF—the Lake Hopatcong Train Station.
