The Lake Hopatcong Foundation works to foster a vibrant and healthy Lake Hopatcong and its surrounding community. We do this through a variety of programs and initiatives in the following areas: environment, education, community and advocacy.

Environment

We work to protect and improve the lake environment through programs focused on water quality, invasive aquatic species prevention, and long-term stewardship of Lake Hopatcong. Because the health of the lake affects every aspect of the lake experience, environmental protection remains at the core of our work.

Education

We help people of all ages understand the importance of our freshwater resources through hands-on learning experiences and educational programs. By fostering a deeper appreciation for Lake Hopatcong and its watershed, we inspire the next generation of stewards and help support the long-term health and sustainability of our lake.

We strengthen connections throughout the Lake Hopatcong community by bringing together residents, visitors, local organizations, businesses, and public partners. Through events, programs, and collaborations, we help foster a shared sense of place and encourage people to connect with and care for the lake.

We advocate for the protection, support, and funding of Lake Hopatcong, its watershed, and public lakes throughout New Jersey. By working with local, county, state, and federal partners, we help advance policies, programs, and investments that support healthy lakes and thriving communities.
